We comply with all state and district regulations, including background checks and required certifications for our staff. Our programs are designed to work in partnership with schools, delivering measurable outcomes for students. We provide affordable and inclusive opportunities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants.

How After School Music Academy Structures Its ELOP Program

The After School Music Academy is a trusted ELOP program provider serving the all across California. We partner with school districts and local organizations to deliver engaging and enriching music education programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Our exceptional ELOP programs provide social, emotional, and physical learning experiences that foster creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. Through fun and inspiring activities, we create an environment where students can explore their musical talents, develop critical life skills, and build a lasting passion for music.



We operate during and after-school hours on school grounds



Our student-to-staff ratios are no more than 20 to 1



Programs are open to all students in the district for enrollment



Our classes typically run for 60 minutes and are carefully scheduled to ensure that no student exceeds a total of nine hours of combined in-class and ELOP instructional time per day.

Art Education Music Classes

POP BAND

This fun ensemble introduces the ukulele, bass boomwhackers, frame drums, and djembe—perfect for exploring rhythm, melody, and teamwork. Students will learn basic chords, rhythms, and songs, building confidence as they play together in a group!

BANDA

Our Banda class blends the ukulele and guitar, offering a fun and dynamic way to explore music. Students will learn essential chords, strumming techniques, and rhythm patterns while building skills in melody and harmony. By the end of the course, they’ll gain the confidence to perform as a group, developing both musical ability and teamwork!

ELECTRIC LAB

Our Electric Lab class introduces students to electronic music using fun instruments like the Stylophone S1, Stylophone Beat, Stylosette, and Korg Volca Sample. Students will experiment with sound creation, beats, and loops while building skills in music production.

NATIVE AMERICAN DRUM CIRCLE

Our Native American Drum Circle class explores traditional rhythms and cultural drumming using frame and gathering drums. Students will learn drumming techniques, build teamwork, and create unified rhythms.

CARIBBEAN DRUM CIRCLE

Our Caribbean Drum Circle class brings the vibrant rhythms of the Caribbean to life with frame drums, djembes, and ashikos. Students will explore energetic beats, learn various rhythms, and collaborate to create lively, interactive music.

WEST AFRICAN DRUM CIRCLE

Our West African Drum Circle class introduces students to the rich rhythms and traditions of West African drumming with the djembe, djun djun, and agogo. Students will explore traditional rhythms, learn to play both solo and as a group, and connect with the cultural significance of drumming.

INTRO DRUMLINE

Our Intro Drumline class introduces beginners to the basics of percussion with the Remo rhythm lid snare and djun djun. Students will develop rhythm, coordination, and teamwork while learning drumline techniques.

ELECTRIC BAND

Our Electric Band class introduces students to electronic instruments like the keyboard, Clari Mini, and electronic drum set. Students will experiment with sound, rhythm, and composition, building skills in electronic music creation.

ROCK BAND

Our Rock Band class lets students experience the excitement of playing in a band with electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, and keyboard. Students will explore rock music’s core elements, building individual skills while learning to collaborate as a group.

Art Education Movement Classes

THEATER

Learning the fundamentals of memorizing a script, voice projection, and stage presence can significantly boost a child’s sense of confidence. Theater helps kids express their personality and learn to emote in a constructive and creative way.

In this popular class, kids will learn to perform skits and plays, drawing up on their sense of imagination.

HIP-HOP DANCE

Dance uplifts, unites, and empowers children. It also provides them an opportunity to move their bodies in a coordinated way, gain bodily awareness, work on balance, and develop confidence and social skills.

Moving in a group is an important aspect of dance and includes instruction on how to move in unison and independently. Our hip-hop dance class is a student favorite and includes contemporary, energetic beats to keep them on their feet and burning off restless energy from the day! Kids should wear comfortable clothes that allow movement.

MARTIAL ARTS

Our martial arts classes focus on developing coordination, self-control, balance, flexibility, strength, stamina and discipline in a safe, supportive and non-competitive atmosphere. This unique program of fitness, fun and self-development will teach your child all the key traits necessary to succeed in life! Our objective is to encourage both physical and mental resilience and to expand kids’ aptitude to face challenges. Our class is designed for students with little to no martial arts experience, but all experience levels are welcome! Kids should wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement.

YOGA

Yoga introduces basic breathing, meditation skills (non-religious), Hatha yoga postures, and flexibility. A yoga mat is required for this basic skills class intended to give the student an experience of yoga and its benefits. Teachers and parents have consistently reported that their students remain more calm, alert, and attentive thanks to the focusing effects of yoga.

CHEER

Nothing gets a crowd going like the athletic choreography and energy of a talented cheer squad. In cheer, students learn the fundamentals of a good cheer routine in a safe environment. This class works as a great parallel or step up from hip-hop and is a popular offering with students.
